In Spain, on August 31, people threw tomatoes at each other in a big tomato fight called "Tomatina." They didn't do it in 2020 and 2021 because of the virus. But this year, it came back. Trucks brought 130 tons of old tomatoes to the town of Bunol. About 20,000 people joined the fun, paying $12 each. Many wore goggles to protect their eyes. After the one-hour fight at noon, the streets and people got cleaned with water.

The tomato fight started in 1945 when local kids had a food fight. It became a big event in the 1980s, and now people from all over the world come. This year was special because it's the 75th anniversary and 20 years since it became famous worldwide.
